Game Completion

We have reached the final stage of the Barrel Run game project. The team of Scriptable Objects worked hard for the completion of this project. As mentioned in the previous devlog post, the KIT207 class had a game demo tutorial where all the students enrolled in the class and some additional students from different game major units had joined. We received a lot of positive feedback from the students who participated in the session. With the help of the feedback that we received, we were able to score a team grade of High Distinction.

Overall there was an overwhelmingly positive response from the participants of the demo session.

We have implemented suggestions that were given to us during the demo session to further make the game more fun and user-centric. There were also a few bugs and last-minute fixes that were required. The fixes are listed below:

  • Terrain Controller now working in MultiPlayer
  • The pause function with the menu was implemented.
  • Player persistence was implemented
  • Some additional Music and SFX were added.
  • The starting point was made easier with some empty grass terrain to begin.
  • Lindsey Mode was added.

Overall the members of scriptable objects were happy with the end product and the journey to the end was also memorable. With the amount of work and study load that the group members have faced and the time constraint to complete the game, the positive feedback that we received from the demo session was the icing on the party barrel cake.
